Troubleshoot Vertical Blinds and Veri Shades®

Veri Shades® Blades are easy to install once you identify which one to start with. This information should be provided in your installation guide. To install the Veri Shades® Blades simply hang the female clip onto the carrier then clip the male clip of the following blade into the female clip of the following blade.

The Veri Shades® Tracks are simply installed the same way you would install a regular vertical blind. Once the track is installed you need to identify which order the blades will be placed in. This information can be found on the installation instructions that came with your Veri Shades®.

One limitation of ordering Veri Shades® in a split bunch is that there is a gap between where the two control ends meet in the middle. This is because there is no overlap between the two sides of the blades when they are rotated to the open position.

Installing standard Vertical blinds is normally a straightforward process. You should first ensure that you have all the necessary components to complete the installation and inspect the track for any damage. Next, you fix your brackets to the appropriate locations and space them out by following the installation instructions. With the brackets installed you can then install the track by clipping it into the brackets. On longer Blinds it may be helpful to have a second person with you, however, many installers can manage the job by themselves. Once the track is firmly secured in the brackets then you can install the blades. To complete the installation simply test the blind to ensure it is performing as expected. 

Vertical Blades are installed by hanging them onto the clear plastic hooks that run along the track. Ensure that all of your blades are facing the correct way so that all look uniform. Once they are installed you will need to attach a bottom chain if you have selected chained weights.

We don't recommend attempting to replace single Vertical Blades for a few reasons. If the blind has been up for a number of years, the fabric may have discoloured and will not match a new blade even if they are the same colour. Additionally, there can be variations from different batches of fabric over time so we recommend replacing the entire blind or all of the blades.

The easiest way to remove creases from Veri Shades® is to iron them out with a regular household iron. To begin, remove the affected blade and place it onto an ironing board. Ensure that steam is turned off and the iron is set to medium heat. Place baking paper over the blade to avoid discolouring and move the iron gently across to evenly apply heat. If the creases are still present you can repeat the process but ensure you allow the blade to cool between irons.
