What are the Key Features?
Like most outdoor blinds Ziptrak® Blinds feature a fabric skin that is wrapped around a tube at the top and a bottom rail that provides weight and stability at the bottom.
The difference between Ziptrak® and many other products is that Ziptrak® uses a unique side channel system that keeps the fabric secured throughout operation.
The sleek and modern design seamlessly integrates into various architectural styles, adding a touch of elegance to your outdoor area. They feature a sturdy aluminium frame, ensuring durability without compromising on style.
The absence of external ropes or pulleys provides a clean and uncluttered appearance, allowing the focus to remain on the overall ambience of your outdoor space.

What Makes Ziptrak® Different?
With an increasing number of Zip Outdoor Blinds on the market, Ziptrak® has maintained its position as one of the most popular options available for a few key reasons.
20 years of Innovation
Ziptrak® is a South Australian owned and operated company with over 20 years of experience transforming outdoor spaces. This means you're receiving a product that has been tried and tested in our sometimes harsh Australian conditions.
Aside from their proven history withstanding the test of time, they also have a number of features that set them apart from the competition.
Centre Lock Release Handle
Spring-operated Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds feature a unique centre lock release handle. This makes operation much faster and easier over competing products that typically use a locking pin on either side of the bottom rail.
Additionally, a reverse handle can be installed at the back of the bottom bar to operate the blind from the outside, for other products you'd either have to leave them unlocked or have to walk around to access the locking pins at the front of the bottom bar.
Ziptrak® Kedar spline
Unique to the Ziptrak® system is the double-sided kedar spline. The kedar spline is a heavy-duty tape that runs along both sides of the fabric skin.
The kedar spline is welded to the fabric skin and retained in the side guides. This means that the fabric is securely held in place while still allowing you to move your Awning to any point along the opening.
Unlike competing systems, the Ziptrak® tape is always visible. This has no functional difference to the Blinds and is simply a design choice. The tape features subtle Ziptrak® branding and is available in a range of different colours.
Operation
Considering your different options when it comes to operation is a crucial step in customising the perfect Outdoor Blind for your space.
Spring Operation
Spring operation is the most popular option for Outdoor Blinds. It offers an easy and convenient way to operate your Outdoor Blinds to achieve the perfect amount of shade.
Motorisation
Motorisation is a fantastic option for those who want the most convenient and effortless way to operate their Outdoor Blinds. It's well worth considering if you're looking to add several Outdoor Blinds to your space as you can control them all from a remote.
Ziptrak® Cassette
The addition of a Cassette is the most popular optional extra when it comes to Ziptrak®. Cassettes are great for enclosing the top tube and the fabric to keep them protected from the elements. For motorised Outdoor Blinds, a pelmet is recommended to shield your motors from the elements. Cassette also help ensure easy maintenance by reducing the build up of dust on the components.
Limitations to Consider?
Like all side retention Outdoor Blinds, Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds can become difficult to operate during high winds. The wind pushes against the fabric skin which increases the friction between the kedar spline and the channel making it more challenging to raise and lower your Ziptrak®.
Additionally, all Outdoor Blinds should be retracted in extreme weather conditions such as high winds to prevent damage to the fabric and components. This will ensure your Ziptrak® will provide you with years of trouble-free service.
What Maintenance is Required?
We recommend regular cleaning (at least every 3 months) to ensure surfaces are free from dirt, dust and grime.
Use a soft brush to clean the blind, paying particular attention along the side channels to prevent dust and dirt from building up. Aluminium extrusions can be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm soapy water or a small amount of mild detergent if required.
Do not use any oil-based sprays as it can cause dirt and grime to build up in the side guides and can damage certain fabrics.
